Dr. Lantao Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Intelligent Systems Engineering (ISE) Department at Indiana University’s School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. Before joining ISE, he was a Research Associate and spent two years in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern California (USC). Prior to his research experience at USC, Dr. Liu worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University during 2013 - 2015. Dr. Liu received a Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2013, and a Bachelor degree from the Department of Automatic Control at Beijing Institute of Technology in 2007.
Dr. Lantao Liu is passionate about designing AI and robotics techniques that can be used for, or applied to, e.g., lifelong autonomy, robotic aquatic/atmosphere environment sensing and monitoring, datadriven planning, adaptive sampling, environmental exploration and mapping, smart vehicles/transportation, warehouse coordinated robots.
