      Supplementary Description: Z399 The History of the Book to 1450 This course includes a hands-on exploration of the evolution of the book and scribal practice from cuneiform tablets to medieval masterpieces to the beginnings of the Renaissance. Utilizing the outstanding collections of the Lilly Library, each week we will examine the socio-economic forces and personalities that ultimately result in the design of the contemporary book as we know it today.

      Supplementary Description: This is a no-prerequisite course that focuses on the practical application of programming simple games in JavaScript using a popular free and open source game engine library. It teaches approaching game design computationally, by recognizing and implementing object and state-based algorithms and structures. This course serves as the first rung of the ladder toward the game production requirement for the Media School's Game Design program.
