The Shoemaker Technology Inventor & Entrepreneur Speaker Series is focused on bringing experienced technology entrepreneurs to campus to share their stories with aspiring student innovators and entrepreneurs. Shoemaker is the chairman of Board of Directors at Extreme Networks, Inc.
Entrepreneurs and innovators Fred Luddy (founder of Service Now), Jane Martin (General Partner of Village Ventures), John Shoemaker (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Extreme Networks, Inc.) share their knowledge and experiences.
The Intelligent Systems Engineering program showcases interactive activities in the stunning fourth-floor lab.
The Cheng Wu Innovation Challenge supports students in developing technological innovations unconstrained by immediate consideration of the commercial potential of the innovations. Student presentations will showcase the innovation that's happening at SICE.
Faculty, staff, and students showcase data and scientific visualizations as well as augmented and virtual reality applications.
World-renowned architect Philip Beesley has created a custom sentient art installation for Luddy Hall that will be installed on the fourth-floor ceiling and will be visible from the bottom of the grand staircase. A group of IU students are working with Beesley on the installation. Check out his TED Talk on building living architecture.
'94 SICE alumnus Ian Rogers, chief digital officer at LVMH and former senior director of Apple Music, addresses Research Horizons.
A talk by SICE professor Bernard Frischer, followed by interactive demonstrations by his students using augmented and virtual reality.
LuddyFest featured speakers Philip Beesley, Rogers, and Wang are joined by SICE Dean Raj Acharya and Distinguished Professor of Engineering Katy Börner to discuss what it means to be a renaissance engineer. Brad Wheeler, IU's VP for information technology and CIO, will moderate the discussion.
