Class of 2017 steps up with record-breaking gifts

Summer Camp 2017

The School of Informatics and Computing's Class of 2017 cemented their legacy by contributing a record amount to the SoIC Class Gift campaign.

An all-time high of 74 students contributed a total of $1,600, and Dean Raj Acharya personally matched the students' gift dollar-for-dollar, bringing the campaign total to $3,200.

"Our students' work ethic in the classroom during their career at SoIC was unmatched, and this year their record generosity deserved to be honored," Acharya says. "I'm so proud of the Class of 2017, and we look forward to their success as they move on their respective paths."
Contributions to the SoIC Class Gift campaign benefit the Dean's Fund, which supports the critical research, technology, and operational needs that enable SoIC to provide a quality education.

As a young school, SoIC relies heavily on the support of alumni and friends to provide the unique student experiences, world-class faculty, and quality education that makes our School special. "Thank you for giving me the chance to change this world," noted one student with her gift.

Students who gave before graduation will be recognized on a student donor plaque in Informatics East. For more information on student gifts, please visit our development website.
