P436 Introduction to Operating Systems

Prerequisite(s): CSCI-C 335 and C 343.

Organization and construction of computer systems that manage computational resources. Topics include specification and implementation of concurrency, process scheduling, storage anagement, device handlers, mechanisms for event coordination. Lecture and laboratory. Credit given for only one of CSCI-P 436, P 536, ENGR-E 319, or E 519.
